Celebrating International Women’s Day

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”

There are so many people that one can celebrate on International Women’s Day, so many that their names start to blur together. Individuals can make great change like this quote from Mother Teresa. She was a woman who didn’t really set out to make great changes, she just wanted to see people taken care of in a place that didn’t have somewhere for them to go. She didn’t look for a gender to help, she wanted to do God’s work by helping as many people as she could. She put in long, long hours and gave her prayers to those whom she knew she could not help.

We all have the capacity to be that kind of woman, to help without asking for something in return. We all have the ability to be kind and provide positive energy to a world that needs it now more than ever.

I want to celebrate International Women’s Day but sharing this amazing song by Joy Williams.

In a world still fighting for equality between men and women, I think this song is a great celebration of what it means to be a woman.
