I love the blog “Yoga by Candice” but I didn’t know who she was until I found the book “Namaslay” on the shelf at Chapters. I picked it up and put it down a few times, then a few weeks ago, I purchased the digital version for Kobo eReader.
The book is filled with personal stories from Candice Moore about her journey to yoga and the trials she had to endure both physically while she fought Lyme disease and emotionally as she fought the depression that came with the battle with the disease. Even if you skip all the yoga pose lessons, you will still get an excellent read from her personal journey.
The yoga pose lessons are fantastic and have detailed step by step instructions as to how to get in and out of the pose safely and key points of alignment. Both of these are important to making sure that you are learning yoga safely. I am all about teaching yoga in the safest way, so this book really spoke to me.
If you are new to yoga, I recommend this as an inspiration read and if you are experienced in yoga, I recommend this for the yoga pose instruction and flow recommendations. All and all, I think this is great book.
